Application of Lyapko applicator devices for the treatment and prevention of gout
What is gout
Gout is a very ancient disease. In the time of Hippocrates, it was called the "disease of kings" and aristocrats, since only rich people could eat large amounts of meat (gout is also called the "meat-eaters' disease"), natural wine - products that cause the disease.
In general, in the world, according to statistics, about 2-3% of the population suffers from gouty arthritis.
Gout is a systemic disease characterized by a violation of the metabolism of purines (uric acid derivatives) in the body and the deposition of uric acid salts (urates) in some tissues of the body.
As a result of these deposits, dysfunctions of organs and tissues are formed. Joints, kidneys and some other organs (bones, ligaments, liver) are especially affected.
Gout occurs, as a rule, against the background of a violation of protein metabolism, as well as kidney dysfunction. Symptoms include inflammation (arthritis), severe pain, and nodules (gouty tophi).
First of all, the disease is manifested by pain and inflammation in the joints, where crystals of non-excreted uric acid accumulate, damaging the smooth cartilage surface.
Since gouty arthritis is a metabolic disease, it occurs in those people who either have an increased intake of substances containing purines in the body, or their excretion is difficult.
In addition, an additional risk factor for the development of the disease is arterial hypertension, as well as taking certain medications.
A hereditary predisposition to gouty arthritis has also been proven.
Mostly people of mature and older age get sick: most often men after 40-45 years, and women - after 55-60 years. This is due to the fact that female sex hormones (estrogens) have a positive effect on the exchange of uric acid in the body.
The disease proceeds with periods of remissions and gouty attacks.
The big toe is most often affected, but it can also be another joint, such as the knee or elbow. The pain can be so severe that it hurts to touch the affected area. “Gout” is literally translated from ancient Greek as a trap for the foot. The joint swells, the skin around it becomes purple-red due to swelling, and the temperature of the skin in this area rises.
The occurrence of gout is indicated by the presence of tophi - dense nodules - appearing on the elbow joints, calcaneal tendons, auricles, and wrist joints. Accumulating in these places, salt crystals eventually turn into small white nodules that can be felt in the area of small joints on the arms and legs.
In the transition to a chronic form, gouty arthritis is accompanied by deformity and limitation of movement in the joints, pain of varying intensity becomes permanent.
How to treat gout
If gout is manifested by an acute attack of pain, then first of all the patient must be provided with complete rest.
In the acute period, an ice compress must be applied to the area of the diseased joint, and the leg itself should be fixed on a raised platform. Applications of a 30-50% solution of dimexide, which has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, are applied to the affected joint.
For gout attacks, painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs are used, which are prescribed by a doctor.
Nutrition is of great importance. If the patient is on a diet, gout attacks may not occur for years. But, most importantly, you can not self-medicate!
If gout is not treated and the diet is not followed, it becomes a very dangerous disease - 3-4 years after the first attack, irreversible impairment of kidney function may begin.
Diet for gout involves the use of:
- fruit juices,
- steamed vegetables,
- replacing fried meat with boiled meat.
From the diet, it is necessary to exclude red meat and products from it, meat offal, concentrated meat broths, canned food, fatty fish, legumes, spicy and salty cheeses, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, and alcoholic beverages (this is especially true for beer, brandy , champagne, red and sweet dessert wines).
Prevention
It is imperative to observe the drinking regime - drink up to 1.5-2 liters of water per day, it will remove uric acid from the body.
For prevention, it is good to arrange a fasting day once a week, during which you should not eat any meat or fish products.
It is also useful to eat citrus fruits (at least one orange a day), avoid excessive physical exertion, stress.
It is recommended to perform exercises for the joints: rotate the foot in different directions, bend and unbend the fingers. It is very useful to pick up small objects from the floor with your toes.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapeutic methods for the treatment of gouty arthritis are aimed at alleviating pain symptoms, stimulating metabolic processes in tissues.
Shown:
- high-frequency magnetotherapy;
- UV irradiation in erythemal doses;
- UHF therapy of low intensity;
- centimeter wave therapy;
- UHF-therapy of the adrenal glands;
- hirudotherapy
- application therapy Lyapko.
The use of Lyapko application devices for the treatment of gout
Lyapko's applicators in various modifications (plates, rollers, applique belts, applique tapes) are an original, powerful device with many health-improving therapeutic possibilities.
Their action is based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine - superficial multi-needle acupuncture, as well as on the general physiological mechanisms of life.
More detailed information can be obtained in the article "Lyapko applicators - mechanisms of action and application zones".
Lyapko's application devices well help to relieve swelling, inflammation, pain, both in an acute attack of gout and in the chronic course of the disease. They help to improve blood circulation, and, consequently, improve metabolic processes, which is especially important in the complex therapy of gout.
It is recommended to act on the organs involved in metabolic processes, i.e. UAL should be placed on the projection zones:
- liver (right hypochondrium),
- pancreas (left hypochondrium),
- kidneys (lower thoracic spine, lumbar region).
In the acute period, applicators are not applied to the painful joint area. Apply above or below the joint.
If the problem is associated with damage to the joints of the upper extremities, then it is necessary to act with applicators on the cervical-collar spine, from where the innervation to the upper extremities comes, then on the joint area.
If there are problems in the joints of the lower extremities, then you need to apply applicators to the lumbosacral spine, from where the innervation to the lower extremities comes, then to the joint area.
You can act simultaneously or sequentially.
You can apply applicators to the entire spine, the larger the area of impact, the better the effect.
It is recommended to use large flat applicators on the back area: Applicator "Large mat", "Massage needle large mat", "Chance 6.2x4".
Flat applicators "Chamomile M", "Quadro", "Chance", "People", placing them both along the spine and across.
In addition to the back area, to enhance the effect, it is recommended to use applicators simultaneously or alternately on auxiliary areas: on the front surface of the abdomen, torso.
The exposure time is 20–30 minutes, the course of treatment is 10–14 days, which can be repeated after a break in 1–2 weeks. Such procedures can be applied in courses for a long time.
Especially convenient to use is the Chamomile M applicator, which, thanks to its flexible “petals”, acquires the relief of any part of the body. They can have an impact on any part of the spine, hip and knee joints (fixed with an elastic bandage); apply to calves, feet. The exposure time with flat applicators is 20-30 minutes.
You can also use static-dynamic applicators: “Magic ribbon “Health”, belt “Universal M”, belt “Kid”. Uniform pressure on the surface of the body and ease of fixation allows you to move freely, do the usual thing and at the same time be treated.
It is recommended to fix the applicator for 20-30 minutes to the areas of damaged joints; in addition, you can use the zones of the opposite healthy side for 10-15 minutes. The procedure takes 20-40 minutes, the course of treatment is 1-2 weeks, the treatment can be repeated after 2-4 weeks.
To relieve stiffness in the joints in the morning, fixation on the limb gives good results, starting with the fingertips of the “Magic Ribbon “Health”, rolling along the palmar and back surface of the hand with the “Needle Ball” or application rollers.
There is a positive practical experience of long-term, for several months in a row, daily use of applicators. There was a persistent improvement in well-being, removal of chronic pain, increased vitality and performance.
Additionally or before the massage, it is possible to treat painful and adjacent areas using the "Big Roller M" or "Universal Roller M". The exposure time is 3–7–10 minutes, depending on the individual skin reaction (until a uniform pink color appears).
It is also necessary to massage the upper and lower extremities, the corresponding zones of the spine, the joint, for example, using the Pharaoh massager, but at the same time, direct exposure to the diseased joint should be avoided, as this can increase the inflammatory reaction in it, work above and below the joint .
It is very effective to use the application "Insoles Plus". Impact on biologically active points located on the feet contributes to the restoration and normalization of the function of all organs and systems.
A good therapeutic effect has an effect on the zones of active points on the human body. To do this, it is convenient to use flat small-sized UALs, for example, "Kraplinka", "Kid", "Sputnik".
